Limping Plane Brings B-36 Crash Survivors To Base at Ft Worth
Nine survivors of a B-36 crash off the western Canadian coast arrived at Carswell Air Force Base in Texas aboard a C-54. The flight origin was McChord AFB Tacoma with one engine feathered due to an oil leak. A crowded Long Island Rail Road collision near Rockville Centre between an eastbound and a westbound train killed 29 people and injured about 100. Wreck injures fifteen on Gulfport line derailment
Twelve cars of the Pan American derailed six miles west of Gulfport as the Louisville and Nashville train traveling from Birmingham to New Orleans left the track.
