Wisconsin farmers produced 4.7 percent more milk in 1949 than 1948 reaching 15.383 billion pounds, while prices dropped about 7.9 percent. American cheese output hit a state record 430.035 million pounds, 46 percent of U.S. production. Butter rose 23 percent to 169.59 million pounds, ranking Wisconsin third nationally.

George DeNure Dies at 92 in South Wayne

George DeNure 92 of South Wayne died yesterday evening after an 11 week illness with strokes. Born July 7 1857 in Jordan township he married Josephine Erickson in 1889. He lived on a Wiota farm before moving to South Wayne 26 years ago. Survivors include a daughter Mrs Clifford Stixrood and two sons Harry and Charles eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services Monday at Hanson funeral home then East Viota Lutheran Church with Rev G M Gunderson officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons Harold George Kenneth Alvin Robert DeNure and Charles DeNure.

Bank Robbers Take Large Sum From Capital Branch

Three men robbed an outlying Hamilton National Bank branch today and escaped with about 320000. W. T. Waller, the bank president, said one man waited in a car outside while another guarded the door and a third rounded up branch manager H. R. Bauckman and two tellers. No one was injured. Auditors had recently visited the branch near the District of Columbia boundary.
