George L Geiger Set To Retire After Long Pharmacy Career
George L Geiger retires tomorrow as pharmacist in charge of Clinic Pharmacy after sixteen years leading the department. He will work part time in semi retirement and was honored with a gift at a Clinic Library ceremony. Geiger’s early work included Clark's drugstore while in Monroe High School, and he later held positions with Owl Drug Co Liggett Walgreens and even worked for Douglas Aircraft during World War II before assuming control of Clinic Pharmacy in 1947.

Two Executives Killed by Train at Delavan Crossing
Two Sta-Rite Inc executives, Jerome H. Matson aged 44 and Malcolm E. McNamara aged 36, were killed when their car was struck by a Milwaukee Road train at a Delavan crossing near their office. The incident occurred about 9:50 a.m. as they left for a Burlington plastics plant. Both men were fathers of three.

Viet Cong Wounds Gen Stilwell and Two Pilots
Brig. Gen. Joseph W. Stilwell and two American pilots were slightly wounded by ground fire from Viet Cong while in an armed helicopter over the Mekong Delta near Saigon.
