Auto Inventories Show Dec 1 Drop
Detroit reports show unsold new car inventories fell to 355,233 on December 1 from 399,394 a month earlier and 327,945 on December 1, 1951. Dealers note many 1953 models were not yet saleable but the bulk remained higher priced makes. Optimism for 1953 sales exists but price concerns and factory diversification affect dealer prospects.
