Mrs Lesa Wraight Dies at 70 in Brodhead
Mrs Lesa Wraight 70 died at 3 40 am at her home after a long illness. She operated the Wraight nursing home five years and was born in Germany April 7 1882. She came to the U S as a child and lived in Decatur Township before moving to Brodhead five years ago. She married Frank R Wraight in Dix Illinois in October 1906. he died in October 1944. She belonged to the Congregational church and its Aid society, the WCTU, WRC and Pine Bluff Club. She is survived by two sons Stanley Brodhead and Frank Indianapolis. three grandchildren Nancy Richard and Mark. two brothers Frank and Fritz Brodhead. three sisters Mrs Albert Ten Eyck Sr Brodhead Mrs Ann Emerson Brodhead and Mrs Elias Lovold Culver City California. Other death notes include the passing of her husband, two sons, one daughter and three sisters. Services set for Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev J C Robertson at the Newcomer funeral home. burial Greenwood cemetery. Call tomorrow evening at the funeral home.

R A Niffenegger Dies in Rockford
Roy A. Niffenegger aged 59 former Monroe resident died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday night at his Rockford home. Services pending. youngest son Roger is in military service en route to Japan. He leaves his widow Lottie Trickel and ten children, four daughters and six sons, all but the son in service married. Surviving siblings include Edward Monroe and Frank Marengo. sisters live in Milwaukee Argyle Monticello and West Bend. His parents and a sister died previously.

Apple River Man Killed in Hunting Accident
Harold Merrick, 29, of Apple River Illinois, died at a Shullsburg hospital after a self inflicted gunshot in a hunting incident. Coroner Richard Barth reported the .22 rifle discharged in the front seat of a car driven by Charles Theisen, 32, as they hunted rabbits on a county road west of Apple River.
