Social Events Relief Corps Holds Yule Gathering

The WRC Christmas party at Pythian hall featured James O’Donnell and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rieder with a Christmas musical program. Mrs. Rieder accompanied violin selections and sang Panis Angelicus and Alleluia. Santa Claus distributed gifts for 70 members. The group voted a donation to the Boy Scouts. Installation of officers is set for Jan. 6.

Roxy Club Dines Then Hosts Christmas Gift Exchange

The Roxy club dined at Grant's Maple Grove Inn and visited Mrs. Louise C. Steffen for a Christmas party. Honors in cards went to Mrs. Fred Boesiger high, Mrs. Emma Leuenberger, Mrs. Clara Braw, and Mrs. John Houser who won the traveling prize.

The State Line Aid society will hold its annual family Christmas party in the church parlors Friday evening.

PTA at South School Sets Attendance Record

The South School PTA December meeting set a new attendance record with 125 people present. Brownie Troop 13 sponsored the program, and fourth grade achieved the top 60 percent parental attendance, edging second grade at 58 percent. Santa distributed treats as Patty Rust performed a tap dance, Paula Hahlen and Luann Heimann gave ballet and piano pieces, and many Brownie girls recited poems.

The Green County Masonic chorus presented a Christmas program for the Green County Shrine club dinner at Monroe Country Club. Shrine club president W. S. MacDonald acted as toastmaster while A. R. Neushwander distributed gifts to Girl Scouts from Troop 11. Delbert Bowles directed songs including The Riff Song Ezekiel Saw De Wheel and Softly the Stars Were.

Dolls Delivered to Hospitals by Local Girl Scout Troop

Lavern C. Gallitz recounts the trip to Chicago to deliver dolls dressed by the Girl Scout troop to Shrine hospital. Two dozen dolls were made by local girls with clothes sewn by the troop. half went to Chicago and half to a Minneapolis hospital. Troop members honored include Judy Fry and Diana Grant among others.
