Knowles Backs Four Year License Plates Plan

Gov elect Warren Knowles endorsed a four year license plate plan to cut state costs. Wisconsin would switch from two year plates with a mid term decal to durable plates saving about 90000 dollars annually and 380000 over four years. Karns will draft a bill for the 1965 session to implement the idea.

Two Decades of ESA Alpha Zeta Honors Planned

A Wisconsin sorority chapter marks twenty years since its pledge in 1944 with reunions and a Maple Grove Inn dinner on December 7. White House backs Huffman case study in Monroe visit

David Burri Resigns From Monroe Police Post

Monroe police chief Henry S. Hefty announced the resignation of David J. Burri from the Monroe police department effective tomorrow. Burri joined June 15 1959 and is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer born in Exeter Township. He will become a Monroe Post Office employee.

Census Bureau Corrects Wisconsin Tax Burden Error

The Census Bureau admitted a $80 million mistake in a 1963 report, using taxes levied instead of taxes collected to rank Wisconsin as having the nation's heaviest tax burden. A correction will adjust Wisconsin to rank fifth, with revised burden at about 111.13 per $1,000 of personal income, per Knowles and state officials.

Arrests of Sheriff and Deputy Tied to Klan Slayings
