Floyd Pyle to Retire After 42 Years at Monroe Post Office
Floyd O. Pyle ends a 42 years six months service at the Monroe post office with retirement at close of business Friday. A party is set for Saturday Dec 12 at the Swiss Wheel, with postal employees and spouses attending, Postmaster R J Myers said. Pyle began May 1 1922 after appointment by the late Emery A Odell, founder publisher of The Monroe Times.

Romuald Grycan about 30 was killed Wednesday at the Harnischfeger plant near Cudahy. He was welding a plate to a 10 foot high drum when the plate slipped from a hoist and crushed him after he fell into the drum.
