Trout Pheasant Stamps Proposed in Wisconsin Budget

The Wisconsin State Conservation Commission proposes a 1965 67 budget of 34.7 million dollars an increase of 2.1 million and two revenue ideas including trout fishing and pheasant hunting stamps to raise about 600 000 annually Governor elect Warren Knowles questions the stamp projection and forestry tax revival efforts. The plan favors land purchases under the outdoor resources program and seeks centralized recreation advertising scrutiny by the legislature.

Yale Music Slated For Concert Event

Three Injured In Head On Crash On Highway 69

A head on collision on Highway 69 a mile south of Verona near 10 p m injures three people. Mrs Mayden Greer of New Glarus and Eugene Nuehring of Madison drive the two cars. Nuehring suffers head cuts while Mrs Greer has a possible broken arm and head bumps. Ronald Nuehring age 22, riding with his brother, sustains hand and face cuts.

Woodworking To Take Up Time Floyd Pyle Retires From Postal Service

Floyd O. Pyle retires after 42 years with the postal service. He plans a basement woodworking shop at his Monroe home and reflects on a career that began in 1922 as a mail messenger under postmaster Emery A. Odell. He later became a city mail carrier and chief Civil Service examiner, known for precise exam work and long unused sick leave. He is a World War I veteran native of Carthage, Missouri.

Red faced Sheriff Smiles Through Meriden Hearing

Meridian Mississippi sheriff Lawrence Rainey and 18 white co defendants faced a federal complaint charging criminal conspiracy in the 1964 slayings of three civil rights workers. Bonds were set at 5000 each and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday at the Meridian federal courthouse. Deputy Cecil Price offered no comment on possible murder charges.
