Milk price hike eyed for Chicago Milwaukee consumers

Consumers in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas may face higher milk prices starting Monday as the Central Milk Producers Co operative seeks a 48 cent per hundredweight rise from dairies. The plan targets bottled milk and could push consumer costs by about one cent per quart if negotiations fail.

WEA Sets Spring Meetings For Wisconsin Delegates

The Wisconsin Education Association delegates decide to move annual meetings to spring. They will combine with the state teachers convention in Milwaukee in November no longer to fit all business. About 800 delegates from across the state gathered in Stevens Point after an earlier Milwaukee session failed to finalize agenda items.

Hunters End Season Armed With Complaints

Wisconsin deer hunters finished the season with complaints over a forecasted drop in the deer kill. Officials had warned a 20 percent or more fall from the 1968 level of 120000. Hunters cited poor tracking conditions, reduced party permits in the northwest, and more landowners posting properties as reasons for a thin season.

Albany Boy Scott Nipple Dies At 8 From Leukemia

Scott Nipple eight year old son of Warren and Penny Nipple of Albany died at 1 45 pm Saturday in University Hospitals Madison after a prolonged illness from leukemia. He was born April 8 1961 and attended Albany Elementary School. Services will be held December 2 at the Sharer Funeral Home Albany with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Auto Crash Near Brodhead Injures Two

A car driven by Thomas Jenkins, 1501 W Sixth St, Brodhead, rolled about 40 feet on Golf Course Town Road four and a half miles north of Brodhead. Jenkins and passenger Steven Schuur, Route 1, Brodhead, were treated at St nessy Clinic after the 6:32 p m Sunday mishap.

Henry Marty Injured in Two Car Monroe Crash

Henry Marty a 71 year old of 1530 23rd Ave Monroe was taken to St Clare Hospital in satisfactory condition after a two car crash Sunday morning on Highway 69 in front of the Swiss Cheese shop. Richard Kern 23 of 2610 Eighth Ave Monroe suffered a bruised knee while Marty sustained rib and left side injuries. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage to the fronts with Kern’s car losing the front left door.
