Vacation Over Schools Ready To Sound Bells

Public school reopening set for Monday with kindergarten starting Tuesday. Rural children enroll at Lincoln School Monday morning. New Grade School Bids Are Accepted By Board

The Monroe Board of Education approved contracts totaling 781 581 14 for Northside Elementary construction after reducing the base bids from 816 727 50 by removing items including 38 991 16 in air conditioning. The July referendum authorized 850 000 for the project with six percent architects' fees and furnishings from existing schools. Clothes Closet resumes in Monroe to aid families

The Clothes Closet project of the Womans Club of Monroe will reopen Wednesday September 7 with hours from 1 to 3 p m on the first and third Wednesdays through next June. The effort, started in April 1964 to aid families in need, is led by co chairmen Mrs Norman Huber, Mrs Dean Perry, Mrs Lee Kirsch and Mrs Robert Paulik. The closet is in the rear room of Baker's Book Store, donated by Sherman Hodgson.
