Laurie A Winslow of Rt 3 Darlington was named a National Merit $1000 Scholarship winner. She is one of 1000 finalists from all states chosen for the one time award sponsored by Outboard Marine Corp of Waukegan Illinois. Winslow plans mining engineering and has math contest and mining scholarship honors. She is co editor of the school newspaper and Spanish Club member.

St. Victor's Elementary School receives 4000 in ESEA Title II funds to create a centralized library media center for the 1976 77 school year.
