President Eisenhower presided as a 100 foot bell tower at Capitol Hill was dedicated to late Senator Robert A. Taft. Hoover Nixon Rayburn and other officials attended. Hoover called Taft a man of social conscience and steadfast service. Taft died July 31 1953 after cancer.

Otis E Wells 63 of Route 3 Jordan Township died at 11 30 last night at his home from a heart attack after years of illness. He served in World War I with Co D later Co B 331 machine gun battalion and received a Purple Heart. He leaves his wife Marie Ruegsegger a son Victor two daughters Lorraine Schiappi and Roselyn Dietmeier Jr ten grandchildren and several siblings. Burial is at Calvary cemetery with military rites.

Oscar T. Toebaas, prominent Madison attorney and former State Bar president, died yesterday at a Palm Beach hotel while convalescing after a heart attack last October. He mentored in notable adoption case affecting Wisconsin law and held multiple leadership roles including Navy League president and American College of Trial Lawyers member.
