Marine injured in southeast Judo two car crash
A 25 year old Marine from Rock Island Alabama suffered a fractured knee cap in a head on collision five miles southeast of Judo on a township road at 5 15 p m. He is in good condition at St Clare hospital and will be transferred to Great Lakes in a few days.

Harry Lyford Named To Trade Fairs Post
Harry B. Lyford former editor of The Monroe Evening Times is appointed chief of public information for the Office of International Trade Fairs in the Commerce Department. He previously led information for the President's Committee on Government Contracts and directed information operations for various State Department agencies. A University of Wisconsin graduate, Lyford served 19 years as editor here, leaving in 1941.

Walter Benkert 51, Monroe Man Succumbs After Illness
Walter F. Benkert, 51, Monroe, died last night at his sister’s home after a year long illness. A refrigeration engineer in Washington D C for 21 years, he served in the Marine Corps 1929 to 1937 and was stationed in Nicaragua. He was born December 31 1907 in Monroe township. Survived by two sons at St Peters burg Fla one brother Edwin West Allis and four sisters in Monroe. Funeral service Wednesday at 1 30 p m at Shirner Neushwander funeral home with Rev Paul H Olm officiating burial in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call after noon tomorrow.

Father given term in death of infant
James Wisbroecker, 23, was sentenced to five years in the Wisconsin Reformatory near Green Bay for homicide by reckless conduct in the death of his 3% month old daughter. The baby died November 8 1958 from a brain hemorrhage the prosecution said came from a blow. Wisbroecker claimed the injury occurred when he dropped the infant during a bath.
