Incumbents facing defeat include Ben Cleveland, William Spring, Leland Jordan, Leland Heitz, Warren Martin, Guy Davis, Victor Schiller, Joshua Hoesly, and Paul Francois among others.

Flood Photo Plane Crashes Two Killed

A small plane struck a high power line and plunged into the flood swollen Rock River near Lowes Park toll bridge north of Rockford. Two men aboard were Capt. Robert Lynch of Freeport and Lt. Col. James H. Bate of Lowes Park, while Eugene O'Malley tentatively identified them. They were taking aerial photographs of the flood.

Industrial Safety Meeting Tuesday

City Installs Blinkers In North School Zone

Two amber blinking lights are installed a block east and west of North school on 9th street Highway 1181 to warn motorists of children crossing. An automatic timing unit triggers lights during school transit hours and official signs accompany the setup. The 15 mph limit will be strictly enforced when blinking.

The Jos Huber Brewing Co began its new flat top can line after a year of construction and a $125,000 outlay.
