Panic hits working families as corn prices rise

Hit the Wrong Man With corn selling at 75 cents on the Chicago market and 60 cents locally, it does not appear that the panic of which the spell-binders are talking had hurt the farmers much. It everlastingly knocked the stuffing out of the laboring man in the workshops and at the forge and left them with empty dinner pails. A panic is bound to hit somebody and this time it hit the man, his wife and little ones who were the least able to stand it. It always hurts the man who has money to earn, but never touches the man who has money to burn. This is a Republican panic and you cannot fill up that working man's pail, nor clothe and feed his wife and children by whooping it up for 7Sc corn for the farmer.
