Local man charged with attempted murder after hospital release

Bobby Huffstuttler, 31, of 1303 South Stockton, is charged with attempted murder for a June 8, 1981 wounding of James Fazenbaker, 27, in front of Alice's Bar on North Main. Both men allegedly used a .44 magnum. Huffstuttler’s arrest followed his hospital release. bond set at $20,000.

Guard exercise successful in Midland training drill

MAJ A G Adair of Monahans said the Annual Training Exercise of the 403d MP Battalion Texas State Guard in Midland Sunday demonstrated effective crowd and traffic control evacuation search and rescue and emergency first aid with EOC support. The drill occurred alongside a real oilfield fire and explosion that killed several workers.
