Council backs three fourths rule for appraisal board seats
At a special Monahans meeting the council discussed Ward County appraisal district directors for 1982. City Manager Forga said the school district urged three of five seats, giving it veto power and making it the ultimate tax authority. The three fourths method would let three taxing entities appoint directors. Five members would be chosen with votes from Ward County, Monahans Wickett, Grandfalls ISD, Grandfalls, and Monahans schools.
