Ward County Central Appraisal District board votes to hire Cooper Aerial Survey Co for aerial photos at about 10840 dollars, with 2030 dollars paid by McMorries appraisal firm. Work delayed because ASCS cannot complete before April. 290 photos plus Mylar municipal area maps planned. Hewett notes 90 to 95 percent tax roll correlation completed.

GED test dates set at Odessa College July schedule
Four July dates 18 22 27 and 30 for GED exams in Odessa College Fine Arts Building room 118 held 8 am to 4 pm. Tests cover writing skills reading math social studies and science. Required IDs include Texas driver license or DPS ID. 17 year olds need withdrawal letter. both ages must sign not currently enrolled in high school. Cost is 10 for all tests or 2 per retake.

Man charged with manslaughter after I-20 crash
A 33 year old Pecos man Ernesto Salcido Salcido was jailed on $5,000 bond for involuntary manslaughter after a two vehicle collision near Pyote. Salcido westbound on I-20 struck a parked car and its driver Antonio Busso of Odessa who was fueling his vehicle. Busso died while Salcido survived. Busso’s body was sent to Juarez Mexico.

Southwestern Bell proposes 15.8 percent rate increase in Texas
Public notice under Public Utility Commission of Texas states Southwestern Bell plans a new intrastate rate schedule effective July 21, 1981 unless the Commission acts. The schedule would raise intrastate revenues by about 15.8 percent and copies are on file with the PUC in Austin and at affected municipalities and company public offices in Texas.
