Shipping Out Cattle From Local Buyers
Several Iowa cattle buyers have been in the city for days to purchase cattle for shipment into Iowa to help consume the large corn crop. John L. Wright bought about 500 head, added 100 more at Alexandria, paying around $14,000 for a, choice lot. Crow & Co. of Sioux Rapids spent over $5,000. An Omaha road train departed about 11 o clock. Prices averaged around $4 per hundred, yielding profit for the buyers who had acquired cattle earlier in spring and winter.
