The Mitchell Printing Company presents annual subscription options with various payment terms and state newspaper pricing. Advertising rates are available on application with business cards six lines for five dollars and local lines charged per small unit. Legal notices follow statute rates. Marriage and death notices are published free, with obituaries and wedding presents billed per line. Friday, November 22, 1885.

It also notes penny newspaper prices in Chicago, Eugene Field monuments, South Dakota livestock diversification, and local rail project debates involving Pierre and nearby towns.
Davison County board met November 16 1895 in special session. They audited and allowed numerous bills including state court costs labor on Mitchell township and janitorial expenses. A series of resolutions authorized the county treasurer to cancel 1886 personal property tax and to refund 1888 tax, plus approval of a large refunding bond issue to refinance existing debt. The meeting approved bonds payable in New York with interest at 6 percent, and appointed W M Smith to handle bond delivery for a fee.
