Family returns to Blendon farm after Ark southward venture
Six weeks ago George Schlund and family left for Arkansas chasing agricultural glory. Three weeks later they arrived in Mitchell South Dakota to stay, then decided to return home to Blendon township farm due to poor market for horses and produce. Mrs. Schlund expresses homesickness and it is noted they will ship goods back by train. A letter from Mrs. J. E. Green in Viroqua Wisconsin dated November 14 1895 defends rumors of the couple skipping the country, stating they remain in South Dakota with possessions and family, and that husband plans future visits to relatives.
