Fire Destroys N W Depot at Parker
Fire at Parker South Dakota yesterday afternoon destroyed the North Western depot three freight cars with merchandise and the freight room contents. Loss to the company exceeded 8000 dollars. Agent J H Steninger, also president of the telephone company, lost about 200 dollars in telephone material. Fire started when a freight engine dumped hot ashes near the platform. The depot was a frame structure and burned rapidly. Two box cars held merchandise for local merchants. one car contained household goods.
