Inter Collegiate Y M C A Conventions At Mitchell
A three day program in Mitchell features the Y M C A and Y W C A intercollegiate conference May 15 to 17 with major events including the eleventh annual oratorical contest at the Grand Opera House May 18 and the fourth annual athletic championship May 18 to 19 on University grounds. Nearly a hundred athletes compete, bands perform, and a band contest closes May 19 with Brookings and Vermillion bands. Special rates and organized visits welcome attendees to Mitchell.

School Board Meetings End in Harmony Amid Reorganization
The board of education resolved a week of uncertainty by reorganizing with E. B. VanAlstine as president and C. W. Adams as vice president. Wallace won the clerk post after brief ballots. Trudell Sentenced to Twelve Years in Penitentiary
Frank Trudell, released on a pardon last summer after serving part of a prior assault term, was convicted in Woonsocket of an assault on a young girl. Judge Smith then sentenced him to 12 years in the state penitentiary.
