The Adventists of the State conduct their annual conference drawing a large turnout with about six hundred attendees gathered for the big statewide gathering.

Change of Presidents as Adventists Begin Settlement in Mitchell

Elder Milliman of Missouri leads a growing Adventist movement in Mitchell with 300 to 400 followers. A public sermon by Rev. J. N. Watt drew a large audience at the corn palace, as conference sessions began under Milliman. Leaders, nurses from Battle Creek Sanitarium, and children’s program heads support daily meetings through June 28, inviting Mitchell residents to attend.

Nineteenth Annual Seventh Day Adventist Conference in Mitchell

The Nineteenth Annual Conference opens Tuesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota drawing Adventists from across the state. Tents rise north of the palace with separate meetings for Germans Scandinavians and English speakers led by W T Milliman N P Nelson and others including Mrs S M I Henry John A Brunson N W Kauble O A Johnson and Fred Anderson daily medical lectures by Dr A N Loper accompany the event aimed at religious study and sociability.

Adventist Camp Meetings In South Dakota Draw Crowd And Insight

The gathering fills with delegates and visitors from across the state with over 100 tents set up. The Adventists publish in 32 languages and have sold books totaling more than $9,000,000 since 1854. Elder N P Nelson delivered a farewell address as he moves to the Nebraska conference presidency. German and Scandinavian services run daily, with topics on providence and free moral agency. Elders C P Fredrickson and N W Kauble spoke on divine plan and Adventist education at Union College Lincoln, noting practical manual training alongside science.

Wedding of E F Dundass and Miss Lewis in Catholic Church

The wedding of Dr E F Dundass and Miss Esther Lewis took place at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning in a Catholic church. The bride wore white as the ceremony, performed by Father Hogan, was witnessed by family and friends including Laura Lewis and Jos Herbert. After the service the couple and party dined at the Lewis home, then left south to Milwaukee at 11 for Armour where they will reside. Dundass will practice dentistry.
