Old Settlers in Plano Township hold annual picnic in Geo. Ball's Grove as city council and county commissioners discuss Dry Run bridge on Sanborn street. They approve a stone arch design, set bids due July 17, 1895, and arrange joint meetings with county officials.
President Pollard convenes council with members Wings McDougal Levinger Simpson Indra Gracy. Motions authorize the auditor to seek bids for a stone arch bridge and grade approaches using material from Orswell hill and south of the bridge. A temporary crossing over the C M St P railroad at Iowa street is assigned to Simpson and Gracy, with a permanent crossing at Montana street approved.
Regular meeting reports install of officers for Chanka Lodge No 21 and Western Star Rebekah Lodge term. Other items note committee lists, a Spirit Lake resort trip, and a Perry township artesian well reaching 416 feet with about 10 barrels per minute flow.
Mitchell Lodge No. 69 A W U W passes resolutions honoring John J. Hough a valued member. Charter to be draped in mourning 380 days and notice to family and papers. Also reports Plano township old settlers picnic with Rev Sage Geo Sibby and Frances Miner performances and a Perry Plano baseball game to about 200 attendees.
