South Dakota Wheat Crop Outlook From H V Jones

Minneapolis Journal expert H V Jones estimates South Dakota will raise 32 million bushels of wheat this year, six million less than last year, with most counties yielding five to ten bushels and southern regions producing higher yields up to thirty bushels in favorable patches. Titze Sent to Reform School Over $319 Theft Case

August Titze, 16, was brought before Judge Abbey after being accused of stealing $319 from Joseph Weepie. Evidence showed the money was hidden in a garden where Titze was seen digging, and it was found near a bureau drawer after a child observed him retrieving items. The court ordered his transfer to the state reform school due to his age and circumstances.

Prof J E Todd of the University at Vermillion notes artesian wells may reach a balance if annual losses from wells and leakage do not exceed the natural recharge. Pressure in the area is generally slightly declining but there is no fear of early failure.
