Saline County Teachers Association Convenes in Marshall
The Saline County Teachers Association met in the circuit court room with Superintendent W T Carrington presiding. Papers on reading and language work were presented by Fisher Crear Johnson Hixon Levy and Dysart with two evening addresses by Dr R H Jesse and Carrington. The group adjourned after Friday’s events and issued resolutions thanking Superintendent Carrington for his rural school leadership as he retires.

Colored Teachers Meeting of Saline County at Lincoln School
The Saline County Colored Teachers Association held a two day meeting at Lincoln School in Marshall on September 18 and 19 with twenty one teachers in attendance. Each speaker handled their subjects well and the group adopted resolutions thanking Lincoln School and the association for the session.

Dedication Day at Stew art Chapel draws thousands
Dedication services at M V C turning over Stew art Chapel to trustees attracted about 5000 people with overflow on campus. Gov Folk delivered a nonpartisan good citizenship address. An anonymous writer lamented a breach of confidence after the hall ceremony when U D C members presented Gen A P Stewart a bouquet and Stewart replied with remarks he deemed inappropriate for the invited audience. An evening banquet followed.
