W H Sagesser’s mother died in Appleton City. J Jenkins mother died in Memphis and was brought to Marshall for burial. Incendiary Fires Sweep Vacant Homes on West Morgan and West Marshall
About a week ago a vacant West Morgan Street house owned by L. A. Bradford burned in what neighbors say was arson tied to it being occupied by undesirable tenants. Tuesday night another vacant house on West Marshall, owned by Mr. Hurst of Kansas City and recently vacated by Joe Call of Terrell & DeGarmo, burned to the ground. Fire suspected incendiary in origin.

Great Farce Disbands in St Louis After Bad Turnout
Owing to many attachments run on the company that was to show here this week they disbanded in St. Louis and failed to carry out their contracts there. Hundreds of visitors were disappointed, but the horse and corn show proceeded as advertised with the band performing afternoon and evening concerts. The decorations add carnival atmosphere to Marshall. A list of premium winners will follow in the next issue.

Unfortunate Fire Ruins East North Residence
A fire at the East North Street home of A F Vawter, now in Texas, was reported by Mary Barbee last Friday morning. Frank Miles and Mrs Miles narrowly escaped as a chimney collapsed, trapping occupants and sending several others fleeing through windows. Bentle Irvine perished. the house suffered about 85000 in loss with no insurance. Miles faced about 81000 of material loss, insured but many items lost.
