Deaths notice describes a longtime Saline resident born in Albemarle County Virginia in 1838. He died at his Bad Arrow home on Tuesday morning after stomach trouble years. Funeral held at his residence on Wednesday afternoon with burial in Ridge Park Cemetery. He was a leading figure in Marshall.
John Boggs will sell at public auction on his farm one mile north of Little Rock on Saturday November 10. Sale starts at 10 a.m. Terms cash. Mr. will move to Little Rock.
Senator Warner and Congressman Welborn spoke to a crowded Saline county audience. Welborn’s remarks were humorous while Warner argued plainly for free trade versus protection and touted Republican fulfillment of party promises against Democratic proposals.
At night Warner and Welborn addressed a large audience at the Slater Opera House, describing the event as the best meeting held there this fall. The venue drew a wide turnout and reflected strong local interest in the discussion.
Nye from north of Malta Bend reports a local paper story about A. V. Deckerd finding a double apple with two blossoms and one stem. He claims to beat it with a Winesap showing three blossoms on one stem. The three apples grew together and hung from a single stem, an unusual sight.
Forty three cases of small pox were reported from Nelson Sunday in a mild form. Quarantine enforced. Grand Pass neighborhood reports a few mild cases. Drearville public school closed for diphtheria. Marshall reports several diphtheria cases.
Malter will hold a public sale of personal property at his place one half mile east of Malta Bend on Wednesday November 7.

J. R. Thomas and F. C. Carter of Holden Missouri sold two of their five land sections near Texhoma Sherman County Texas to O. H. Snell of Kansas City Missouri Tuesday at a profit of 2240 dollars. They refused the same price for another section at the same profit. Mr. Thomas plans a trip to the site next Tuesday.
Revival services will begin Sunday evening at the First Presbyterian Church, conducted by Pastor Rev. J. E. Abbott. All are invited to attend.

John Weddle, aged 14 years, 5 days, only son of Doris and Belle Weddle, died October 20 1906 after a three week illness. Rev Payne of Dover led funeral services at the M B Church South Grand Pass, using a verse from 2 Kings. The community mourns the loss of a thoughtful, well loved child whose light the family cherishes.
The community mourns a young boy held in high esteem as friends and family seek comfort. Pallbearers named include Nelson Richart, Frank Young, Chester Demoss, Lester Demoss, Frank Humphry, and Charley Vogt. The message laments the boy's death and expresses belief in Paradise.
Abilene Kansas October 21 ex Senator Joseph Ralph Burton, adjudged a criminal by the Supreme Court, leaves for Ironton Missouri to serve six months. A large parting gathering at his home and at the train reflected mixed feelings as residents praised loyalty and condemned the crime, noting others shared guilt and urging fair reporting over attacks on character.
A Cape Girardeau Democrat citizenry statement dated October 23 1906 condemns alleged shameful human attacks and pledges loyalty to the people of Missouri. The brief petition urges unity among Democrats in defending the state against political reprisals and public denigration.
