Commemorative notices report James D. Brownlee of Fresno died in an accident while on a building job at 33, with a live wire fatal incident. Dr Thomas P. Bereford of Elmwood died aged nearly 70 from general debility, a Confederate officer born in Virginia. Frank Miller, 12, of Fairville, died suddenly, his funeral held yesterday. Ebsean M. Ebsea, 43, died of pneumonia, survived by mother, brother, and two sisters. funeral Friday. A child, 5 years 10 months, died near Cretcher, Intermittent fever noted. burial in Elmwood church cemetery. Stephen Williams Col. died in Kansas City Feb 27, 1906 of pneumonia, aged 60, funeral in Kimwood Baptist Church. A 100-year-old colored woman died in Slater with unknown birth records. another colored man, Hugh Hughes, died after time with M Nunies, in Slater.
To the public they advertise as a new and second-hand store Miller and Miller invite buyers and sellers to visit their Perry and Shannon location promising fair treatment and reliable dealings in second-hand goods.
F W Miles circulated a paper seeking subscriptions to a prize fund for the best road work. Prizes are not fixed yet but will reward top work on roads into Marshall and the best work on six rural routes. County Surveyor Latimer raised funds and plans to hire labor to drag roads in and around Marshall when weather permits.
The Cumberland Presbyterian church plans its annual Christian Endeavor Union convention in Marshall on March 14 and 15 with morning afternoon and evening sessions. The event features a strong program open to all interested and marks the union’s continuing outreach in New Lebanon Presbytery.
Arthur Leroy Bristow, son of H. B. and Laura B. Bristow, was born January 4, 1806 in Marshall and died February 28 at his parents’ home on the corner of Jefferson Ave and West St. He was a bright, congenial boy with many friends and a warm heart for family and faith. His early impulses toward Christianity stemmed from his own heart, expressing appreciation for his parents’ efforts. On the 21st of
Keller and Unruh, new proprietors of the New York Racket, have taken charge of the big store on March 1. They announce changes to improve appearance and convenience, with alterations already underway.
The senior member Unrah, born in Louisiana, came to our city after business in St. Louis and Fayette and now boards with Judge Sparks. A M Keller, born in Lexington, spent 17 years in business in St. Louis and Fayette. The two men, stopping at Hotel Ming, bring long experience, strong finances, and a push to become a major local business factor.
Misses Annie and Theresa Gall of Mt Leonard had a narrow escape when a stove pipe fell during a night fire. They woke sick but survived after medical care. reports say they are improving and up the next morning.
