Mob burns Black suspect in Kansas on public street
Fred Alexander, identified as an assailant of multiple young women in Leaver worth Kansas and linked to the Miss Pearl Forbes case, was seized from the county jail by a mob of about 3,000 and burned at the stake. He had been moved by sheriff to the State penitentiary at Lansing but was released to face a preliminary hearing before a justice.

Miss Martha E. Dawes living near Slater was found sane by a twelve man jury and Eugene W. Dawes was appointed guardian with a $4000 bond. The jury included J F Houx T W Hunter S J Hess and others. Mrs Annie E Allison near Marshall was ruled unsound and ordered to Nevada State Hospital as a county patient.
