Deaths Captain Ruxton Dies in Missouri Home
Captain Robert Ruxton dies of pneumonia at his son’s Springfield residence after a fall and illness. Born June 23, 1820 in Scotland, he traveled to America in 1839, lived 67 years in Saline and Miami counties, served in the Confederate Army, later became a grain dealer, and was buried at Mt Carmel near Fairville after a lengthy life in Miami’s commercial development. He leaves two sons Alvin and William.
