Frank A. Jackson, col., sent to the asylum, died at Fulton Saturday from epilepsy at age 18. His remains were brought to Marshall Sunday and buried in Pennyville cemetery by the Juvenile Lodge. A difficult patient, he caused an exciting episode during transfer.

Ledge Rich of the Criminal Court reduced the sentence of W. Gofero from twenty years to ten years last Friday. He and other prisoners were taken to the tiary on Saturday. Hall and Wm. Butts, both of Marshall, received five years each for a similar crime. Lester Lee, colored, who killed his brother at Slater, was sentenced to ten years. Henry Jackson, colored, got two years for larceny. Geo. Meyer, charged with rape, to be tried next term. Frank Miller, who forged a check on the New York racket, received three years. Levi Jackson, colored, who forged a check on Ed West, also three years. Lafayette Scott got two years for assault with attempt to kill.

Wellington Stewart of near Napton dies after eight days of pneumonia. Born enslaved in Lynchburg Virginia he moved to Missouri at nine, later farming near Arrow Rock and accumulating 220 acres. Survived by six children and noted for honesty, church membership, and community respect.

About 650 lhat Wednesday night an alarm was sent in for a fire at the L. Bell home on South Odell. Neighbors removed much furniture before the firemen arrived. The blaze began in the upstairs southwest room as the family supped, detected by D. L. Cooper. The upper story and roof were badly damaged and water ruined the first story. the home was a one story and insured.
