Charles Logan Scott, born June 20, 1896, died November 18, 1911 at age 15 years 4 months 26 days. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Leonard Scott and one of a seven daughter family.

Four in family mourn death from blood poisoning
A young man died within days after scratching a small lip sore that developed into blood poisoning. Despite medical care and family prayers, he died. Funeral was held at the residence two miles northeast of town with many mourners and Rev. G. B. Shanklin presiding. The community extends deep sympathies.

New piano dealer opens in Martin street store

Medical Association Admits Malta Bend Doctor to Membership
The Saline County Medical Association met in the courthouse on Tuesday with Dr. A. B. Gore presiding. Dr. G. A. Akins of Malta Bend was admitted as a new member. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. December 12 at the same location with Dr. Akins presenting pneumonia pathology and diagnosis and Dr. L. L. Shuck discussing its treatment.
