George Royar a prominent young farmer southwest of Miami killed himself by an overdose of strycherine last Saturday evening. Despondency is blamed due to his wife’s death a year ago and his sick child in a Kansas City hospital. He was 38, son of Adolph Royar, well liked and in good circumstances. He was found groaning in agony with no help possible.

Court Doings Charged with Forgery
L. D. Moore who moved from Blackwater to a farm near here was arrested Friday on a complaint from a Blackwater merchant for writing a worthless $5 check. He was tried before Justice J. M. Rucker in Blackwater, not convicted, with friends saying he overdrew his account after longtime bank use.

Auto party pays for damages after runaway mule incident
Mrs. W. A. Wise and two sons and a daughter were traveling through Marshall Monday when their auto spooked Chas. Schooley's double team of mules at Malta Bend, causing a runaway. The matter was settled by $75 to Mr. Schooley for damages and 15 costs.

Among the Sick N. C. King of Salt Springs has been very sick the past month with little improvement. Dr. veyne of Malta Bend is attending him. Hallie Lisetor has been on the sick list this week. Mrs. Hiram Ordway reports her children Miss Louise and Earl both improving from typhoid which kept them bedfast three weeks. Mrs. J. T. Featherstone has suffered severely this week from an ulcerated tooth. Milton and George Klinger have typhoid fever. W. W. Vaughn is recovering from a severe sick spell. Mrs. Will Drinkerd near Stanhope has been very sick for two weeks. Mrs. Fred Ludwig east of town is very sick. Mrs. Oram Maupin of Blackburn is ill with heart trouble. Mrs. Mathilda Odell is very ill at Mrs. Dennis Nichols in West Marshall. She is 87 years old.
