J. W. Horner Miniota Pioneer Enters Into Rest
Joseph William Horner 81 died September 27 1967 in Brandon General Hospital. Funeral September 30 at Holy Trinity Anglican Miniota with Rev J T Pilling officiating. Interment Miniota cemetery. Survived by wife Lloyd and Douglas of Winnipeg, two sisters in England and fourteen grandchildren. Horner was born in Manchester January 29 1886 and moved to Minnesota/Misota in 1905. He worked at Manitoba Hardware and Lumber Co 1907 1956 and served on Miniota town council and local band. He was a trumpeter with the Manitoba Dragoons and hunter with hobbies including collecting badges weapons and stamps.
