Beulah and Isabellaa Union Churches Remembered in Parish Notes
The Birtle Miniota Wider Parish recalls early church life with Beulah and Isabella panels sharing memories of 1879 onwards. Beulah’s services began in homes led by Rev Hodnett, with Beulah’s first minister arriving on horseback. At Isabella, ministers and hymnody formed a history of union churches before the United Church of Canada. In Miniota Keith Armitage and Allan Armitage read reflections on Manitoba’s first century, settlers by river and rail, hardy homes, and daily labors of women and families.
