The Outlook Conference moves to Brandon January 19 at 10 00 a.m. at Brandon Agricultural Centre. A Mini Outlook Conference follows February 5 at Shoal Lake 1 30 p.m. providing basic economic prospects summaries.
The Birdtail River School Division No 38 board met in Shoal Lake on December 23 1969 at 8 p m trustees Fulton Rapley Butcher Hames Hyndman Waddell Falloon and Lewycky attended. They approved minutes and routine correspondence and first read By law 15 69 to borrow 750 000 for Hamiota Collegiate and St Lazare Elementary additions. They adjusted bus routes approved desks chairs and a calculator for offices and adjourned to January 2 1970. A January 2 1970 session approved officers appointments and routine finance matters including 39 525 progress payment to Hoffman Construction for the Birtle Collegiate addition. The addendum notes ongoing discussions on teacher grants consolidations and cost cuts.
Mrs Don Sutherland visited her niece s Craiks in Winnipeg for Christmas and New Years. She returned January 5. Mrs M Schacht spent the holiday with her son in law and daughter the Rollos at Uno, returning January 8. Rose Bowl parade on our colored TV on January 1 shown with beautiful floats. Mrs Lena Henderson attended the 86th birthday of her sister Mrs J Brandon at Brandon. Jane Dale of Victoria visited Mesdames Coolie Catto Foxton and Baldwin last week.
