Wynona Ladies Group met at Wynona Community Centre with 10 members. They wore Comic Easter Hats for the Rot’s call and planned a Family Party for April 13. Two Red Cross quilts have been completed and the Mystery Box was won by Mrs. J. Cook.
Isabella relocates to P Still farm with the Stills family moving into Ray Still’s house. Red Cross activity over four months includes knitting socks mitts and sweaters and sewing garments. CGIT notes Korea packing efforts. WI reports April meeting, district delegate selection, hospital report, and art display by Mrs. Fors ter with works by Mary Heise. Birthday box winner announced.
A list of visitors from Dauphin Edmonton Virden Wapella and Langbank visited the J O Callaghan and A C Hill homes. Attendees included Mrs Nichol Mrs Harrod and the Leland couple. Jerry Barbie’s family had a Toronto trip due to their son’s illness and Jerry’s health improves.
Mrs R G Mitchell presided at the WI meeting with roll call and plant slip exchange. An IsaBella rally invitation for April 9 was accepted and support for humane slaughtering discussed. A local drama group is sponsored by the WI, with a recital and festival numbers planned.
The Miniota Explorers will hold a candy sale and silver tea in the United Church classrooms on Saturday April 18 from 3 to 5 pm.
Mrs Coburn and Mrs J Elliott visit Winnipeg with daughter Margaret. Weekend visitors include Mr and Mrs C Leland and Vincent at A E Irvines. The Bingo for the Theatre Fund was poorly attended. W M S members attended Oak River Easter meeting of the Evening Auxiliary on Tuesday.
The regular W.M.S. meeting was held Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Hazlewood and Mrs. Kitz directing Worship. Mrs. Johnson reviewed the Hawaii chapter from The Study Book. Bazaar is planned for June 13 and attendance at the Presbytery meeting in Hamiota on May 1. The next meeting will be with the WA.
