High School Students present the one act play Two Crooks and a Lady at Miniota Community Centre on Tuesday April 28 at 8 p.m. Musical festival and other items follow with admission 40c and 25c under Miniota W. I. auspices.
April 16 Bartle Presbytery meeting attended by Mrs J Stowe and Mr and Mrs Gordon Long. WA WMS to meet April 23 at 2 pm with CGIT and Explorer re affiliating. Rev K M Hamilton of United College takes charge until end of June. Overseas relief drive for Korea begins with clothing and fabric donations by April 30. Barbershop and pool room formerly Yarwood's bought by H R Bruce. family to move into Howard Richardson house and start May business.
The Cats Patrol tops the patrol competition with 261 points while Beavers 260 Wolves 253 and Cobras 241 trail. Garth Powell and Maurice Curry were invested at the last meeting. A baseball team is being formed to join a Boy Scout League.
Mrs. C. W. Ellerington presided at the April W I meeting in the Community Centre. An Isabella Rally invitation was received for May 9 and the Cancer Research Canvass is set for April 20 to 25. Delegates to the District Convention were Mrs. Long and Mrs. Chas. Armitage. A $25 donation was approved for the Cemetery committee. Members will handle hospital mending in November. Guest speaker Mr. F C. Denham, school principal, outlined scholarships bursaries and loans with emphasis on high English standards to gain awards. Parents were urged to push their children to higher learning. Mrs. Chas Armitage gave thanks and tea followed. Roll Call bulbs and slips were exchanged during lunch.
The Rural Municipality of Miniota issues a public notice requiring all accumulated garbage manure and inert refuse to be removed from every village to the closest nuisance grounds by May 15 1958. Virden Health Unit 35w
Rural Municipality of Miniota advertises the west half of section 19 township 13 range 27 as hay and pasture land. Highest offer not necessarily accepted. Offers must be filed at the Municipal Office by April 30, 1959.

Cor M. Doyle records visitors in Beulah this week. Winnigep resident Mr. W. S. Frazer and his mother Mrs. Frazer visit, while Mrs. Fred Cooper of Uno is noted as a patient at Hamida Hospital. Mrs. J. Cook and family from Edmonton visit the McDonald home. Miss Jones from Cypress River stays with the MacDonalds.
Isabella announces the return of Mrs. J. T. Finkbeiner and family from Vancouver for the summer. Len Hall and Rodney Campbell are noted for recent travels and a new job with a Brandon road construction company. Mr and Mrs R T Clark also return from a holiday in Victoria BC and visit Vancouver parents.
The Isabella 4 H Stitching Bees Achievement was held in the Community Centre on Tuesday April 14. President Margaret Ariss presided with reports from Sheila Attwood and Noreen Adams. Projects I II IV V Adv showcased plays, dress reviews, demonstrations and musical numbers led by several 4 H members and leaders. The event featured awards, a pledge display, and a communal lunch closing a successful evening with visitors from Foxwarren Shoal Lake Decker Beulah Miniota and Arrow River clubs.
A baby boy named Donald Nelliee Foster was born at Hamiota Hospital on Wednesday April 15 to Mr and Mrs Frank Campbell. In Miniota, Mr and Mrs Alfred Foster welcomed a daughter born on Saturday April 11.
