F C Denham will address the WI on Saturday April 11 in Miniota Community Centre. E L Reynolds was elected Birdtail River School trustee by 375 to 115 over F Andrew on March 3. Correction William Yarwood of Miniota died in Hamiota Hospital aged 75 years 10 months and 22 days. He married Margaret Mellin g in Wiggan in February 1909 and lived in Saskatchewan before settling in Miniota over forty years. He was a longtime Masonic Lodge secretary. He leaves his wife. Funeral at Holy Trinity Church with Rev W H Gregory officiating and Masonic rites at graveside. Pallbearers were John Wythe Perry Wallace R G Mitchell Lloyd Evans D J Forsyth and G E Goodmanson.

Visitors included Mr and Mrs Jack Wilson and Dennis and Mr and Mrs Harold Topps of Souris. Doreen Topps joined them for a visit. A truck driven by Mrs E L Reynolds overturned on Highway 83 north of the CNR overhead bridge. shake up for Wilma and Kenny Reynolds.

Family Party Welcomes New Neighbors After Illness End
Mrs. Agnes Mary Hill died April 1 in Brandon after a lengthy illness. Survived by husband Herman Hill five sons and four daughters and numerous grandchildren two sisters and a brother. Born 1881 in England she migrated to Canada in 1906 married 1909 and farmed at Silver Bend before moving to town in 1947. Funeral held April 4 at Holy Trinity Anglican with interment at local cemetery.

Boy Scouts Ping Pong Meet Winners And Standings
The Boy Scouts held a ping pong tournament at the recent meeting with Ken Powell of Beaver Patrol winning. Gary McKinnon Wolf Patrol and Jack Spalding Cats, Aston Barrett Cobras also placed. Nelson Kenward was invested into the Scouts Movement. Beavers and Wolves lead patrols with 191 points, Cats 190, Cobras 178.

The Hamiota Hospital District No. 7A Ladies Aid met in the Community Room with 15 districts represented. Sewing projects were mostly completed and turned in. Hospital Tea for May was dropped this year. a schedule lists monthly assignments and the regional meeting at Virden on April 15 at noon with contact for attendees.
