The Omaha May Music Festival will be held at the Auditorium on Thursday and Friday May 28 and 29. The program includes a soloists matinee, a Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra concert, a forty voice maennerchor, a Friday matinee by the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Haydn's Creation performed by the Oratorio Society with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. Mills County residents are expected to attend. Tickets advertised in this paper.
Mrs J E Beam wife of a former Glenwood harness maker sued Council Bluffs saloon keepers for selling liquor to her husband depriving her of support. A jury awarded $125 damages in the district court after a two day trial. Pfaff operates 609 South Main Street.

Stillwagon store, loan market activity by Kugel's Mercantile Co, Mills County Abstract Co, and cement work by E. E. Barber. Also an ad for Foley's Honey and Tar and a job work pitch from the Tribune.
High School play by Glenwood Senior cast features Professor Goodwillie and Lady Gilding in a three act comedy. Performances Monday evening May 11 with admission 25 and 35 cents. Cast includes Professor Goodwillie Lever Ett Seymour Wayne Bogart Dr Cosens Fred Dean Sir George Gilding Pete Henders Lady Gilding Dowager Lady Gilding Agnes Goodwillie Lucy White Efie Ostrander.
Remains of Jacob Jacobs were moved from Davenport to Emerson for burial after he died Friday from injuries suffered when the Jacobs home burned the day prior. The middle aged man succumbed to internal injuries from smoke and gas. he leaves a wife and a 20 year old son.
The Thaw insanity case against Harry Thaw opens in New York for his release from an asylum after the Stanford White killing. Evelyn Thaw seeks a divorce on grounds of insanity at marriage but may testify for him to show he is not currently insane.
E B Woodruff the Glenwood attorney, a member of a correspondence chess club, was high man in a recent four game series. He won two games and tied two, totaling three points. He will start a new series soon with another group of players.
Thieves broke into C. H W. Worris store at Bartlett Sunday night by sawing a rear window. They took a few articles of merchandise and fled. Heavy rain washed away their tracks leaving no clues to identify the burglars.
The east bound Burlington morning passenger number six will depart Glenwood at 8 40 beginning Sunday, five minutes earlier than before, with Omaha departure at 7 28, fifteen minutes earlier overall. No other trains were altered.

Mrs. Alfred J. Harmer died yesterday at 4:30 pm six miles south of Glenwood from typhoid pneumonia after a three week visit with son Edward L. Harmer in California. Funeral arrangements await arrival from California. She leaves a husband and eight children. Obituary to follow. Isaac Cattron funeral at Glenwood on Sunday. buried West Liberty cemetery. He died after congestion of the brain at 75, found dead at daughter Mrs. James Ray's home in Council Bluffs. Survived by brother James and five sisters in Missouri, California, Washington, and Colorado.

Sunday School Charles V Bentley reports a union Sunday school organized in Eureka district St Mary with Mrs Thomas and Mrs Cottin in charge and meetings at 2 p m. Every home in the community urged to participate. Hawthorne union Sunday school four miles southeast of Glenwood thrives with Mrs C C Ward as superintendent.
