Two Ball Games At Glenwood Yesterday

Two ball games were played yesterday afternoon at Glenwood. The White Sox lost 9 to 3 to West Side with Halter Allbee and Lewis starring for White Sox and Allen Hamilton for West Side. Later Glenwood high beat Pacific Junction 12 to 4 as Glenwood surged in the first inning and Junction rallied later to narrow the margin.

New Families Move Into Lyons Township Route

Newcomers along the Lyons Carrier route report three new households. Pete Schmit moves from Atkinson Nebraska to the old Wm. Tague farm after buying it. Thus Groat from Woodbine occupies the Herbert Hubbell place seven miles south of Glenwood. Laning Jensen from Council Bluffs becomes tenant on the old Levi Mancie farm near the county line.

Band Concert Planned in Court House Park

The business men of Glenwood organize a public band concert in the court house park on Saturday May 9 in the afternoon. The celebrated Institution band led by Prof. Schulot will provide the music. The event aims for an early start so farmers and families can return home in good time.
