Epworth League Officers Elected at Glenwood

The Glenwood Epworth League elected new officers this week led by President Alta Hale. Elected vice presidents are Clara Hale, Alta Goodell, Georgia Genung, and Gertrude Bogart. Secretary is George Haley, treasurer Hazel Fleming, and organist Nellie Goodell. Installations set for the League anniversary Sunday May 17.

Denver Woman's Suicide Attempt Ruled Non Criminal

Denver reports confirm Miss Alice Ward of St. Luke's hospital attempted to end her life in a Plaza rooming house last Sunday. Disguised under the name Rachel Jacobs she was later identified at the county hospital and transferred to St. Luke's, where she is recovering. Ward says there was no man involved and she simply grew tired of life.

Colorado settlers defend homestead weather and water claims

B A White of Sheridan Lake Colorado writes to defend the region amid criticisms from Ling. He notes 13 rains since August, snows near 12 inches, water depths of 80 to 150 feet, and that while water quality varies near Sheridan Lake, nearby wells are good. He urges more settlers to help break up virgin sod and praises the climate and soil.
