Declared Insane Music Teacher From Mills County
Miss Lenora Gaylord, a former rural school teacher in Mills county, was declared insane by Pottawattamie county insanity commissioners after being found asleep on a Bayless Park bench last Tuesday. She was placed at St Bernard's with $65 on her, and investigators found no current pupils. Witnesses testified she had taught in several rural schools in southwest Iowa. Her home is near Tabor.

Committed to Asylum for Mrs Stil Haven in Clarinda
Mrs Stil Haven of Emerson was adjudged insane this morning and committed to the state hospital at Clarinda after prior treatment at Green Gables near Lincoln. Two children are involved. the boy stays at a farm near Emerson, the baby girl with a grandmother in Canada. The insanity board also considered parole for Obery Wolfe of Rawles, but neighbors object and parole was not granted.

Malvern Light and Power Cuts Rates Despite No Petition

The Malvern Chautauqua opened Tuesday with the big tent ready after late setup. A large grove of camping tents lined the grounds as Dr. Parsons announced season ticket sales nearing $1000, with at least $100 already paid last Friday. L. H. Maus, platform manager, pledged strong work, while returning Mills County residents anticipate meeting old friends and former Glenwood schools superintendent Maus. Liberatti's Band drew a large opening-day crowd, and Maus predicted the event would surpass prior Malvern chautauquas.
