McAdams Leaves Glenwood for Harlan Vocational College

O. McAdams, owner and manager of Glenwood Business College, moves to Harlan to lead the Vocational College there. Glenwood’s college will be discontinued for the present as he takes charge of the new institution. He aims to build up the Harlan college and assist local students.

Stolen horse case ties Glenwood sheriff’s office

Ed Marshell of Glenwood leather shop aids in a search for a horse stolen after Charley Morton hired a saddle horse to view orchards. Morton, who has worked around Glenwood and at Dyar fruit farm, may have left for Fremont, Nebraska. Meanwhile, 220 Fort Madison “honor” convicts are assigned to state institutions, with 20 to the Institution farm near Glenwood and 200 to farming and other work assignments.

Military Company at Fair At Malvern Show

The Glenwood military company will be a special feature at the Malvern fair this year on Thursday, August 7. They will travel fully equipped, pitch camp tents on the grounds, and give an exhibition drill. They leave the following Monday for camp at Des Moines.

Dislocated Ankle Hit by Twist in Coal Depot Contact

William Kates dislocated his ankle today while hauling coal. He jumped from his wagon at the depot, landed on a block of wood, and the ankle twisted severely.
