Malvern drayman Carl Hertz visits county seat. Emma Arnold and other visitors arrive from Shenandoah Lincoln and Des Moines areas. County Attorney Logan travels to Ogalalla for ranch matters. Chautauqua week opens with Liberati band. Numerous local movers move, travel, and celebrate with family and townsfolk across Glenwood, Pacific Junction, and surrounding areas.
A Clarinda auto driver Otto Beauchamp faced an investigation after a boisterous trip to the Bluffs with a profane party. Officer Ed Dalton served papers on Beauchamp as car owner. Mayor Genung set a $15 fine plus costs.
H W Seeger, a noted farmer and piano tuner, is confined to bed with rheumatism. He traveled to Burlington Junction springs for relief but did not improve and has stayed home for four to five weeks. At present he is showing some improvement and hopes remain for a full recovery.

The city council fixes the north side sidewalk grade between Walnut and Vine streets. Starting at the southwest corner of Block 2 the top of the sidewalk will be 18.4 feet above the city reference plane, and at the southeast corner of Block 24.48 feet above the reference plane. The grade remains uniform between the two points. Mayor Genung and Recorder Hamilton sign.
