Glenwood reports births, visitors, and social events with many names and towns. Notables include a baby born to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schoening of Oak township, couples visiting from Plattsmouth and Emerson, dance plans with Wheeler's orchestra, and a hasty marriage tied to the D. G. Jamison Company as Cupid moves through the shop.

Assessors report alfalfa planting rising as a common crop in Mills County. In past years few farmers grew alfalfa, but now almost every farmer seems to have it, despite two years of less favorable conditions.
An appeal urges Glenwood Armory Company members to attend the Thursday meeting at 8 p m in the Court House. Officials request unity to raise funds for the armory building and push toward success, calling for participation at the finish.
The Glenwood Club held a meeting last Monday night to elect new officers. J. W. Carter was chosen president, W. C. Rathke became vice president, Roy Haney named secretary, and Earl Herrick appointed treasurer.
Warm days and frost heave damaged alfalfa roots with breakage in old fields and in plants harmed during cutting or pasturing. Frank Choate, south of Glenwood, notes most damage there while young plants show resilience.
An unusual number of geese are wintering along the Missouri river this year with several flocks near the Mills County border and a large flock north of Sioux City said to exceed a thousand.
