Glenwood and Cornel Bluffs residents share visits as families unite for illnesses and holidays. Local worthies, including Mills County figures, attend churches and events while plans unfold for property moves and community projects.

Glenwood Lodge No. 58 A F and A M issues an annual calendar for 1914 with a chapter calendar and Mt. Gerizim Chapter No 59 membership listed. Officers named include W F Johnson W M W S Lewis S W J W Laraway J W H C Daniel treasurer P E K Hester secretary Clyde Rhoads S D J A Blair J D L Bowles S S C M Waterman J S Thomas Clune Tyler for C EB S Chapter 412 led by Mrs Della Chamberlin Worthy Matron and J S Chamberlin Worthy Patron with Josephine Daniel associate patron among others.
Last Friday night the Western Star Encampment No 30 of Glenwood installed officers. Raymond Trisler was named Patriarch, W. J. Hittle High Priest, Frank Raine Senior Wisden, W. C. Rathke Junior Warden, C. P. Hamilton Serine, J. W. Miller Treasurer. The degree team prepares for the Patriarchal Degree at Red Oak on February 17.
The Sophomore boys of the high school plan a Friday evening event at the opera house. The program features orations by Walter Lewis Maurice Lewis Lawrence Stone and Edwin Carter along with humorous selections by Marc Hachman Fred Barbee and J Carl. The debate will argue that the President should serve a single six year term.
The text reports a debate between Porter Rowe and Harold Stranc arguing against affirmative aid while Dean Jackson and Guy Alley support it. A sophomore girl choir will provide music for the event.
Mrs. JL Geil has sold to Frank Kemp of Folsom a half interest in her harness and implement business. The stock is being invoiced. Kemp, long time Folsom station agent, may relocate to Glenwood. his plans are not yet clear. Glenwood welcomes him to the business circle and wishes him success.
Thirteen members of the Stick-todt class of Glenwood Baptist Sunday school met at teacher Mrs. W. S. Brown’s home on January 22 for an evening of games and refreshments.

Also sewing machine warranty offer, and Mrs. Jackson relocating to Dunn & Dudley’s with millinery plans and Chicago trip for latest styles.
An eclectic notice invites trades for food horses and other items with bindings and good stock. A strong offer says take a horse as part payment and price it if taken immediately. Call at the Tribune office for details.
